1. What types of equipment do you repair?

We specialize in audio electronics, including vintage receivers, amplifiers, turntables, speakers, and car audio equipment. If you’re unsure whether we can repair your device, send us the make, model, and a brief description of the issue.

2. How much does it cost to get my device diagnosed?

All repairs start with a non-refundable diagnostic bench fee:

  • $89.00 for the first item

  • $59.00 for each additional item

This fee covers inspection and a written estimate. If you approve the repair, the fee is applied toward the total cost.

3. What are typical repair costs?

Repair costs vary depending on the issue, the age of the device, and parts availability.

  • Minor repairs: $200–$300

  • Intermediate repairs (capacitors, wiring, power supply): $300–$500

  • Full restorations (caps, tubes, alignment, safety upgrades): $500+

4. How long will the repair take?

Turnaround time is typically 6–8 weeks, depending on the repair complexity and part availability. Rush service may be available for an additional fee.

5. Do you offer a warranty?

We provide a limited warranty on the specific parts and labor performed during the repair. We do not warranty unrelated components or overall device longevity.

6. How does shipping work?

The customer is responsible for all shipping costs to and from K-Tronix. Return shipping is billed after the repair is complete. Customers are also responsible for secure packaging and insurance to protect their items in transit.

7. Where do I drop off my item?

K-Tronix does not have a storefront. All drop-offs and pickups are arranged by appointment in Billings. Once your contract and invoice are complete, we’ll coordinate a time and location by text message.

8. What happens if I decline the repair?

If you choose not to move forward after diagnostics, the bench fee covers the time spent on inspection. No additional costs are billed unless previously approved. You may choose to have your item returned, or K-Tronix can safely dispose of it at no extra charge.

9. What if I don’t pick up my item?

Items not claimed within 30 days of completion notice may incur storage fees. After 90 days, they may be considered abandoned.

10. How do I start the repair process?

Submit a service inquiry through our website or text (406) 672-7036. We’ll send you a contract and invoice for the bench fee. Once those are complete, we’ll arrange your drop-off appointment or confirm shipping instructions.
